Yes To Cucumbers Review

On the 19th of October I attended a bloggers meet organized by the lovely Samantha Johnston from AllTheBuzz. This was a fantastic event with amazing goodie bags! Today I am going to review one of the products called Yes To Cucumbers.

On first impressions I was a bit nervous to use this product solely based on how sensitive my skin is and how I don’t know how it’ll react with new products but I bit the bullet and started using it.
I was having a bit problem with spots and black heads around my chin that just would not go away and after a week or so of using Yes To Cucumbers I started to see a difference in my skin. The continuous development of spots on my chin had stops and my skin became a lot clearer.
I was delighted with this!
The only thing I found a bit strange about it and still do even now is that it doesn’t foam when massaging it into my skin. It’s not really a complaint but every time I use the product I expect it to foam just from past cleansers I have used doing this.

There were a couple of days during the time I have been using this product that I got lazy and didn’t do my night routine which involves cleansing my skin with this.
And boy did I pay the price…
I developed a couple of spots on my face which were back with a vengeance but with regular use of Yes To Cucumber again I managed to subside them.  Since then I have not missed a night using it.
I have to say that I really do love this product and will continue to use it and am planning to get some more products from this range!

I rate this product 10/10 based on my own experience with it and recommend it to anyone who are having problems with their skin. But all I have to say it don’t expect result immediately, this product needs regular use to do its job properly.

Thanks for reading guys!

Bloggers Meet Up Dublin!

Yesterday (31/11/13) I attended a Dublin Bloggers Meet organized by the lovely BelleFBeauty! It was such a great event and I really enjoyed myself!
When I first arrived to the Dakota Bar I met Filomena out the front and she told me that the venue had changed! I was very surprised but it was just across the street in the Lost Society bar. I made my way across and met Christelle who gave me my goodie bag and explained the terrible stress the two of them had to endure! Because Dakota bar told them they couldn’t have the meet up in there they had to organize somewhere else very last minute as a venue! So all I can say is well done to you for doing a really fantastic job! And a huge thanks to Lost Society Bar for letting all us chatty girls sit around for hours for this event!

I was the first to arrive so I got a chance to take a couple of pictures of the lovely cakes and treats around the room. There was delicious chocolate and vanilla cheesecakes which I probably ate about half off…..seriously they were delicious! :D There was also a bunch of cartons of coconut water and this aloe vera drink…which I am now officially obsessed with, I need to get my hands on more of this.

These cakes.....<3

The venue in Lost Society Bar

I had a root through my goodie bag to see what little wonders we got and found a lovely range of products including a little pocket mirror which I have been needed for a long time!
Thank you to Cloud10Beauty for providing these awesome bags! :D
Next to arrive after me was Emma from TheOrdinaryGirlsGuideToMasteringHerMakeup and we had a great time chatting and meeting other as well. Throughout the evening I got to meet a range of beauty and fashion bloggers and made sure to get all their links to blogs which I will post at the end of the blog!

What was in our goodie bags! :D

There were a talk by Giovanna from Cloud10Beauty on their new products and even had a set of their brushes as one of the raffle prizes! :D
Then we had a talk from Aoibhe from TheSecretObsession who talked about her road to getting her blog more popular and just a bit on how to get more recognized online! I thought her talk was great and she was so funny and nice as well! Really enjoyed meeting her!

After another little while of chatting and eating cheesecake they held the raffle which we were all given one free strip for! :D I didn’t get around to buying another strip as I was chatting with people the whole time I was there but they did the draw and I ended up winning! I was so excited because I never win anything! I won a beautiful new set of make-up brushes from Real Techniques! This was just fantastic as I was going to buy a set of brushes soon anyway and now I won them! Super happy about it! :D

So happy with my prize! :D
Cant wait to try them out!
I had a nice cup of coffee while continuing my chats with all the bloggers and before I knew it, it was nearly 8pm! The event was over at 8 but I had to leave a few minutes early to go catch my bus home but I had such a fantastic time and just can’t wait until the next one!
Big well done to Filomena from BelleFBeauty for organizing this event! And fair play to how you handled the venue situation! :D

Had a fantastic time <3

Nima Mitt Review

Recently I attended the Dublin Bloggers Meet organized by Samantha at AllTheBuzz. Niamh from Nima Brush was there to give us a demonstration of some of the brushes they have in stock. The first thing she showed us though was the Nima Mitt. This is a pink hand mitt made from tiny micro-fibers closely woven together that you put over your hand and wet with water to take off all your make up. At first I was a bit sceptical while watching the demonstration but as Niamh went on I got more intrigued! She talked about how face cleansing wipes can just make your skin drier and damage it. I have this problem as my skin is very sensitive and any face wipe tends to dry out my skin. I was also having a problem with spots on my chin at the time. Even though I was keeping my skin clean and fresh using cleansers and wipes, it just wouldn't get any better.

So after getting home from the bloggers party i decided to go straight online to buy the nima mitt.
It cost only €12.95. I was happy with this price because of the length of time the mitt should last. Niamh was clear that after using the Nima Mitt we should always wash it straight after use or it will get ruined in a shorter time.

A couple of days later my Nima Mitt came in the post! :D
I was very excited to try this out.  At the end of the day I grabbed the nima mitt, wet it and spread it over my skin, making sure to get all my little rough patches of dry skin and to get all the make up off.

I was amazed at how well it worked. It took all my make up off and any bits of dry skin without leaving my skin feeling sore or tender, I was so happy with this outcome but decided to try it for a few more days before making up my mind about it.. My skin has a habit of reacting a couple of days after the use of new products for some reason.

After using the Mitt, you just rinse with
water and soap and leave to dry
Then your Nima Mitt is ready the next day to use.

But again...after a few days of using the Nima Mitt, my skin had only improved. The spots on my chin had cleared up and my skin felt soft as well. (I would use moisturizer after using the mitt.)

I will admit there were a couple of days i had went on a night out and fallen asleep in my make up. When i woke up there were a few patches of dry skin on my face which were a little sore, but i took out the Nima Mitt and used it in the morning. making sure to get over these little patches and all the make up again. And to my amazement it really did make my skin feel and look a lot better instantly.

I've been using the Nima Mitt for about 2 weeks now and I love it! Since getting it i have recommended to my mam and sisters and will continue to recommend it because i think every woman (especially one with sensitive skin) should have one of these.

I hope you enjoyed my review and maybe you'll try out this product yourself now! If so let me know how you get on with it! :D

Starbucks...a new experience

I'm very new to the world of coffee, I don't think I ever drank it while living in Galway which was for about 4 years. I've been a dedicated tea drinker for as long as I can remember. I started drinking coffee in the last couple of weeks since I moved to Dublin. I found myself getting addicted to the smell of coffee Beans and craving it more and more.
I was in my work placement one day and my manager brought me in a cup of coffee, I was weary at first. I drank it and found it quite nice but at the same time didn't feel the need to drink more.
It's wasn't until one morning when I was feeling extremely tired and had a long busy day ahead of me that i decided to go and get a cappuccino from insomnia coffee in my home town...and it seemed I was hooked after that.
I've taken to going to Starbucks now for my coffee mainly. I went to the one on Dame Street in Dublin and it was probably the first time I had properly been in Starbucks and had the full experience. I wrote in my last blog about my shopping day that i had enjoyed my trip to Starbucks but I felt the need to write a full blog on it now after just becoming totally hooked on the place. The first time I went in I ordered a caramel frappuchino. This is the iced coffee that comes with cream and caramel on top as well. I absolutely love these and have for while but again haven't had one in years. When I was ordering my coffee the guy behind the counter was just lovely and I had a lovely chat with him as my coffee was being made. It really made my experience in there so much more enjoyable. Every time I go in the staff are all just lovely and always up for a chat. Although I'll admit each time I go in I am always on the look out for this specific guy to chat to. He was just so lovely and bubbly. i told a couple of my friends about it and it seems they all have a specific person they love over the other staff in there, I guess everyone has a Starbucks crush :3
I hadn't sit in there before and this week I went in to have a coffee and sit down to study for awhile. Even though the place is quite busy it just has a really nice atmosphere in the place that is really relaxing. Of course the cherry on top is they have free wifi for people to browse happily while enjoying their delicious coffees. Infact I'm sitting in Starbucks right now while writing this.

I feel like I'm rambling on now so ill end this blog on a happy note that if you like coffee and have not tried a Starbucks then you should go in, have a nice look at the menu and just order your coffee whatever way you like it, if you wanna be fussy about it then do! Get it done whatever way you want!

I hope you will enjoy it as much as me! (I feel like I'm betraying my name now because of this blog I still love my usual cup of tea as well so don't be fooled!) :D
Anyway people, I'm off to get my hair done now in Preen, Dublin. Will also be posting a blog about that later so keep an eye out!

Stay Beautiful <3

Question: Have you had a nice Starbucks experience you want to share? What's your order going in? :D

Mine's: Grande cappuchino with a caramel shot, and sometimes a caramel frappuchino with cream on top <3

Dublin Bloggers Meet up

On Saturday the 19th this month I attended The Dublin Bloggers Meet Up organized by AllTheBuzz and oh my god what an event! :) It was held in the Church Café in Dublin city which was a great venue and easy to find.
I was greeted by the lovely Samantha who told me it was the first time she had organized an event like this. As I walked in I saw the lovely goodie bags and was trying to decide which one to pick, then Samantha told me to take one of each! I couldn’t believe it!

Amazing goodie bags generously donated by The Cosmetic Outlet, Derma V10 and Neals Yard Remedies Ireland.

The set up was great and was well arranged for people to mingle easily and get to know one another. There were beautiful cupcakes laid out on all the tables which were just delicious!

I sat down and had a root through my goodie bags to see what sort of lovely things we were given and what was in them was just incredible! Such a range of beauty products, moisturisers and lip care. They were so well put together as was the whole event.

All the lovely products from the goodie bags! :D

The prizes for the raffle were fabulous! I had to get myself some tickets and even though I didn’t win any I was so happy to be able to attend this event! And congratulations to the people who did win! I’d say you were delighted!

There was a make-up demonstration by Niamh from Nima Brush where she showed us a few of their products including the Nima Mitt which I went and bought today, I just had to have it after the great talk she did. She even gave each person at the event a free brush. For myself this demonstration was just fantastic as I don’t know much about make up and do want to learn more about what products to use and how to use them! I learned so much just from the demonstration she gave.

After that there was a talk from Michelle from Her.ie. Michelle told us how she got where she was today as an editor for such a popular site such as Her.ie. It was so nice meeting her as I do read a lot of articles on this website. She also gave out a few tips and tricks on how to use the internet to your advantage to get more noticed in whatever area you cover. I felt so inspired by her talk and as I was leaving the event my mind was filled with ideas for blogs and other things.

Unfortunatly i didnt get a picture with Michelle because I had to leave right after her talk.

This event was truly amazing and I congratulate Samantha from AllTheBuzz for organizing it! I hope to attend more of these in the future where I will get to meet many more lovely people and also to get inspiration from, like I did this one! I even went and made a twitter account after Michelle’s talk and from lots of the people there telling me I should have one to keep in touch easily and just to stay in the loop of other events going on.

I hope everyone had as good of a time as I did and will hopefully be seeing everyone again soon!

A few of the lovely bloggers that I got to chat to:

(They are all the links I got but message me if i dot have you and I'll add you in!)

You can also add me now on twitter

Emotions...

I recently worked with Erin/ MyPaperMacheMind on a small shoot we put together very quickly.
I absolutely love working with Erin as she is a good friend of mine and a fantastic photographer!

Erin is the person who first introduced me to the modelling world which has helped me become more confident in myself and helped me meet so many more awesome people!

Now that I'm going back to college it will be harder for me to do more photoshoots so i was thrilled to do this shoot with Erin.

Erin came over to my house late after noon and we rummaged through all my stuff to find an outfit to fit the idea for the shoot in her mind. She then did my make up and hair then we got moving for the shoot. I looked a bit crazy walking to the location and kept my head down walking along the street. XD
It was quite hilarious.

We got some lovely shots though that Erin and I are very happy with!

'And then she realised'

'Aware'

'Beauty'
'The wasted land'
'There is a point when we all break'
'She could hear them, in the distance - and she was powerless'

'But in the end, her death, was glorious.'

I absolutely love working with Erin and will hopefully will be working with her again soon!

Check out Erin's Fabulous work here:

Group Shoot with Paul Cooley

Recently I did a group shoot working with Paul Cooley Photography, Sorcha Styles and Sahara Make Up on the 11th of August in Ennis, Co. Clare. This was my first time getting to work in a studio so I was very excited!

I got the bus in the morning with Sorcha Styles and Caoimhe to Ennis where we met up with Ali. Paul then met us at the bus station and brought us to the studio.
Caoimhe and Ali are two other models who I had the pleasure of working with at the studio on the day. We had mainly separate shoots but had a few group shots near the end. I had a fantastic day!

Sheila from Sahara Make Up did each of our make up on the day. I got a splatter look on my face. It was quite interesting to get done. Sheila took a toothbrush and dipped it in eye shadow powder mixed with foundation setter (i think that's what it was....I'm not really a make up person XD) and flicked the colours onto my face.

We ended up with a lovely coloured splatter look!

Paul was great to work with as was Sorcha Styles! She did all the styling for the day so she organized my outfits and accessories.

Here are some more images from the day....More still to be released!

I was so happy with how the shoot went as I got to work with a fantastic team in a great location!

Looking forward to the next time I get to work with everyone again!

Check out everyone here:

Oxfam Vintage Event

I'm a little late writing this but man this was such a good day! :D

Oxfam Ireland in Galway were having a vintage event where they had vintage clothes on sale for seriously good prices and other events going on. We got to get all dressed up!

I got there early enough to help with the set up and organization. But i didn't have anything vintage to wear! i was very saddened by this. But thankfully the fabulous Dee in Oxfam let me wear one of the dresses which i was planning to buy anyway! Erin showed up too and we got everything set up with the oxfam crowd! The place looked great!

After everything was all set up Myself and Erin went back to her house to get ready for the big event! :D
We both went with the pokadot look! We were the pokadot parade! haha

My dress cost €6
My bag was €5
and i also got a gorgeous shawl jacket thing for €8

I am completely in love with this <3

I was so happy with my purchases!

When we got back to the shop, the place was packed with people! it was such a hot day as well so inside the shop was very hot! but so many people came in lovely vintage clothes which was so nice to see! Everyone was so stylish! :D

There were even swing dancers organized to do a dance out the front!
Which was brilliant

There was lots of food and wine and everyone just seemed to be having a great time!

Also Dee...the organizer of this brilliant event look absolutely fabulous!

After the main events were over me and Erin snuck off to do a mini photo shoot around the corner. we nabbed some records and the sign from the shop window and ran off for awhile!
We got some lovely shots! :D

When we got back to the event then we just had a great time chatting to everyone. I had a great time and got to meet lots of new people too!

To top off the entire evening, at the end of the event they held a raffle! And i won a prize! :D
I was so happy.....I never win anything!
