Beauty Benefit

God it has been a long time since I have written a blog. Feels like forever. It has been a very busy time for me with exams and planning my big move which I will talk about in another blog soon.
But for now I wanted to talk about the Benefit range that has taken the make-up scene by storm. I have been using the Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Liquid Foundation for the last couple of months along with a few other Benefit products and thought it was about time I wrote about them. Plus it’ll help me get back into the swing of things J

My Benefit Set: As you can see it is quite used at this stage :P
I first got a Benefit make-up kit for Christmas from my sister and have to say that I immediately loved it. It came with the hugely popular PORE-fessional which helps reduce the appearance of pores and can be applied throughout the day if you notice any blemishes.
The kit also came with Bene-tint lip and cheek stain solution.
I often use this solution for my lips and sometimes for my cheeks but it really does stand out for me on my lips. It gives a great light and natural glow to my lips without it looking like I’m wearing anything on them. I absolutely love this about it as I am a big fan of the natural look as I think it works best for me.

The mascara is They're Real Mascara which gives my lashes some great length and volume.

The set also comes with a two-shade blush and gorgeous neutral brown shades of eye shadows. This set is absolutely perfect for people looking for a natural look or a glowed finish make-up look

About a month or so ago I also stopped into the Benefit counter in Debenhams in Dublin to try find a nice concealer. I got chatting with one of the lovely staff there and got discussing the types of make-up I use and how it works for my skin. She gave me all sorts of advice on how to pick and wear my make-up and then did a free make-up session for me to try out the products. This was so helpful for me to really decide what I want and I ended up buying both the Oxygen Wow Liquid Foundation and Fake Up Concealer.

Since I started using these products I have found my skin has improved and I feel much better about wearing no make-up at all.
The Fake Up Concealer is filled with nutrients and vitamins that moisturize your skin as you wear it. It blends in really nicely with my skin and hides any dark patches.
Oxygen Wow Liquid Foundation is a lovely smooth foundation that goes on my skin so nicely. It doesn’t feel like putting a make on my face and throughout the day I barely feel like I’m wearing make-up. I really like to keep a natural look and I really feel that this foundation helps me keep that look.

I absolutely love Benefit make up and definitely would recommend it to anyone but would suggest going in and talking to a specialist on the Benefit counters or into the Benefit shop in Dublin and getting a consultation and a trial to make sure the product works with your skin.

This is a picture of me after applying my Benefit products. Everything I am wearing in the photo is Benefit except for a little bit of Mac bronze.
Let me know what you think of the Benefit range and if there are any other products that are worth a try!

Thanks so much for reading my little come back blog and I hope to be posting much more often now.

BOBBlogChallenge Week 3 - Make Up Must Haves

For this week of the #BOBBlogChallenge, we were given the title Make-Up Must Haves. I have so many of these that I couldn’t possibly write about all of them so I chose 4 that I would consider my main must haves anyway.

First thing I think every woman should have is make-up brushes. I mainly use Real-Technique Brushes which I have to say are excellent.

The reason I say this is because using your hands to put on your make up can help the spread of bacteria and can cause skin problems. Using brushes can help reduce the amount you need to touch your face which can help keep your skin clean and fresh. As long as you keep your make up brushes clean as well of course.
Other than putting my moisturizer on my face, I don’t touch my face at al when applying my make-up. I have found the real technique brushes are brilliant as when I first got them, I didn’t know much about what each brush was for. I learned a lot from friends just showing me but also from youtube as Real Technique also have a youtube page you can click onto to learn about each brush and other handy tricks for applying your make-up.
You can see their Youtube HERE

My next makeup must have is Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation.

This is a new foundation I have been trying out the last few weeks and have found it to be a great product for my face. I have had a bit of a problem lately because of spots on my chin and this foundation has provided a great cover for these while helping my skin to look natural. Another thing I love about this foundation is that you need so little of it to cover your face as well. I have often put out a blob of it on the back of my hand and found it to be too much, thankfully recently I have gotten more used to it and know how much to put out so I don’t waste any. J This is great though because you really get your money’s worth.

Concealer is such a useful product and recently I have been using the
Urban Decay 24/7 Concealer Pencil.

When I first bought this and brought it home, I was happy with it but quickly realised it didn’t fit into any of my pencil toppers at home. So I went back into the shop the next day and bought an Urban Decay Pencil Topper. Even though I was a bit disappointed by this I quickly got over it as the concealer is brilliant and the pencil topper will last me a long time and is handy to have for just make up products. This concealer pencil provides great cover and I know I will buy this again when the one I have runs out. Absolutely love it.

Last but certainly not least I have chosen Mac Lipstick, as my final make-up must have.

I don’t think I really even need to explain this one….the mac products are just fantastic. I have 2 of their lipsticks, one a nice neutrally pink and then a nice bright red shade. Since I have gotten these I haven’t used any other lipstick. I just want to get more mac. The lipstick lasts for hours and doesn’t need much topping up during the day. Even for me, because I am a smoker, I do need to top it up a little bit but it would be more something I notice needs to be done and others don’t. I recommend these lipsticks for anyone really. Go into mac and choose a shade you like and try it out. You won’t be disappointed J

And that’s it for this week’s #BOBBlogChallenge! I hope you enjoyed ready and I shall be back with another post next week!

My usual Make-Up Review

It’s been awhile since I’ve done a review on anything so I wanted to do a review of some of the make-up I’ve been using lately.

The foundation I have been using lately is MODELco Fluid Splash 3 in 1 Foundation.
This is the first time I have used anything by MODELco and was happy to get this product in the right shade as I received it in a good bag at a bloggers meet.
At this point of time I have already polished off this product and am definitely planning to get more.
While this product wouldn’t suit anyone who wears a darker shade of foundation, I found it to be light and natural on my skin. I often had people asking me if I was even earing make up when I used it.
It also came with concealer included in the top cap. This was so handy and useful since I didn’t have to carry around any extra concealer in my bag and it was the exact same shade as the foundation.
It was also great for little top ups during the day if I had a spot or darkness under my eyes I didn’t want showing, needless to say the cap is now completely empty.

After this concealer was used up I had to invest in a new one.
I bought MaxFactor Mastetouch Under-eye Concealer. This came in a little tube which you turned the end of and the concealer would come out the top. This made sure there was none gone to waste. It makes it so easy to apply and makes sure I don’t have to use my fingers at all. Of course my make-up brushes help with that though.
The only thing I wish for this product is that the tube is a bit bigger. For something that I use every day I wish it would last a bit longer.

The mascara I’ve been using is Luxurious Lashes Black Mascara by Derma V10.
This is another product I received in a goodie bag and am very happy I did. I was running low on mascara before I went to the bloggers meet and got a couple of mascaras but have been using this one more regularly.
I find it great for day and night wear. I just wouldn’t apply as much during the day. It doesn’t clump and the brush makes it so easy to spread out the mascara evenly on the lashes.

I have only used the Kardashian Beauty Thursday Lip Gloss a few times. Lip gloss wouldn’t be something I would wear too often. I would usually go for lipstick or recently the new Bene-tint.
But when I want to keep a really natural look where my lips don’t stand out too much then I usually go for this. It is a beautiful shade of pink that just comes out really well on my lips.
I only have the Thursday lip gloss but would love to go and get the rest of the collection to try them out. It’s on my list anyway.

Well that’s the end of my little review of these few products!
Thanks for taking the time to read and I will post again soon
